crosby'sThe spectacular Royal Horticultural Society Flower Show at Tatton Park, Cheshire, on 2327 July is promising to be one of the most exciting yet, with new themes and features for visitors to enjoy. The show will be split into the usual four zones being Inspire, Escape, Feast and Grow, and will provide a host of fascinating things to see and learn about. You dont even have to be a dedicated garden enthusiast to enjoy this event, as there is music, street theatre, cookery demonstrations and floral design workshops. New ‘Have a Go’ areas are dotted around where visitors can try sewing seeds and potting up, guided by the experts.

Some of the favourites of the show include the Great Garden Carnival Parade, a twice daily occurrence and this year there will be a working flowery Ferris wheel where you can get a birds eye view of the proceedings. Young people are part of the fun at the annual show too with schools design competitions, this year entitled ‘Carnival Colour’. Other school projects this year involving over 20 schools, have the theme of storytelling and striking displays will reflect children’s classics like Charlotte’s Web, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Railway Children.

The show includes ‘Young Designer of the Year’ gardens, supported by the RHS, which sees young designers receiving practical mentoring and financial support in the form of a grant towards their garden.

Designers of the innovative Show Gardens, will interpret the elements Earth, Wind, Fire and Water into their designs providing an inspirational feast for the eyes. Family oriented cookery demonstrations will delight in the Feast Theatre, and entertaining guest speakers will be making appearances in the RHS Talks Theatre. There will also be the popular Ladies Day on Friday 25th July, including the Best Dressed Lady competition.
